Why? Well, it stars horror legends Kane Jason Hodder, Robert Freddy Krueger Englund, and Tony Candyman Todd for starters. Then there's the story. I like it, despite the bad grammar:
Once there was a boy named Victor Crowley. He was born hideously deformed, and sadly, folks weren’t too kind to him. So he spent most of his life hidden in his Daddy’s house out in the bayou. The film will be premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival later this month- check out the official Hatchet website for more details. Can't wait to get my hands on this one!
One Halloween night, the local children came throwing firecrackers at the house to tease and scare him. And the old Crowley house caught fire. When Victor’s Daddy arrived home, the house was in flames. He went to the barn, grabbed himself a hatchet, and started chopping down the front door. But what he didn’t know was that Victor was pressed up against the other side, trying to get out. He hit him square in the face with that hatchet... and poor Victor Crowley died.
The old man went into mourning and became a recluse after that. Never left the house. Never spoke to anyone. He finally passed away about ten years later. And that's when the stories started.
They say people tend to disappear in that swamp. And if you get close enough to the old Crowley house at night you can still hear Victor Crowley.Still roaming in the woods.Still crying for his Daddy.
This is a boring post. Time to liven things up a bit with a picture of Superfly Jimmy Snuka doing what he does best...being superfly. Here comes the leopard print PAIN!

Wow... that Adam Green is no slouch. Not a no-name actor in the cast. And John Carl Buechler!? Ha! Fantastic.
Now if it can just be scary. If it can just please be scary.
Also - thanks for the link, S!
Did anyone see Wolf Creek? Is that supposed to be good? I know this has nothing to do with the post, but unless you write a post specifically about it, I won't know when to ... well ... you get the point.
I've heard mixed reviews on Wolf Creek. It should be out on DVD sometime this month and I'll definitely be doing a viewin' and a reviewin'. I've been looking forward to seeing it.
Thanx for the heads-up on hatchet. And by the way great blog.
As a vampire, I'd love to see a stick figure vampire comic: "They Won't Stay Undead"?

Thanks, Chloe...that is an awesome title for a book. Ah, the wheels are a-spinnin'!
Look out! Superfly's on the prowl!!!
Hatchet looks interesting, in a cliched unsurprising way.
The grammar wasn't that bad. I once read the back of a Friday the 13th VHS box (part 3?) that had Jason spelt "Joan"! O how life would have been different if little Jason would have been born a Joan....
There's a sequel we can talk about! Jason with gender issues!
SUPAHFLY!!!
You get cooler every day, Stacie!!!
Wolf Creek comes out tuesday (the 11th). I really loved it but can see how it would get mixed reviews.
JOAN Voorhees! Oh, man. Now that's an idea for the next installment. I'd pay to see that in a flash.
"Babsey", I know who you are!! Booker T...hmm. Maybe next time I'll post ol' JYD.
THUMP!
Thanks for the info on Hatchet. Hopefully it will be as good as it sounds. If nothing else it gives hope.
Wolf Creek bit.
My only question about this movie is did Daddy lived in a half burnt down house, or did he remodel?
These folks are on MySpace and asked me to join, ironically enough today, and now I feel like I'd like 'em to by my friend. Ah.
