They're all amazing. A long, long time ago I was working in a movie theater when Dead Ringers opened. I still can remember the feeling of staggering out after seeing it opening day. Of course, I was able to view it several more times after that but my only question is why didn't I snag the poster for myself??

Sadly, I have no answer.

It would be fun if there was a blogathon where people had to write a horror story based on a movie poster for a movie they've never seen, and then watch the film and compare their version to the movie's. Some of these posters are so intriguing.

Sometimes I'll have the tricked-out DVD of a classic horror flick, but the barebones release is usually the one with the period art (if either of 'em have it), so I'll buy that one and switch the discs, as long as the original's cheap. Hell, I did that with my copy of Dead Zone, and even that one only got the lettering on the spine right.

I'd love to get the Criterion edition of 'Drome, but the cover art bums me out so much I just never get around to buying it. Not that the original's so brilliant, but whatever, it was the poster, just leave it alone.

Until I saw it in print, I didn't realize what a self-defeating habit based on gauzy nostalgia I've developed. I think you've led me to a breakthrough here, final Girl.

Peter Griffin and James Woods watching "Videodrome"-
Peter: Is there any nudity in this?
James: I get naked.

XD

LOVE the David Cronenberg theme, Final Girl. David Cronenberg is THE MAN. And if you're a Cronenberg fan, you should deffinitely check out Nightbreed if you haven't already-- Cronenberg plays a killer psychiatrist. You don't get much better than that, in my book. Love your blog, btw!
