a few things on a Saturday

Best photo ever.

Are YOU joining the Final Girl Film Club this Monday by watching The Devil's Daughter starring Shelley Winters? I certainly hope so.

There's a new Final Girl forum type-thing in town, except it isn't a forum, it's a group. It's a Facebook group. Are you on Facebook? You should be. It's much less glittery and musical than MySpace, and you can play Scrabble. So, if you're on Facebook, join the group! If you're not on Facebook, join Facebook and then join the group! The old FG forum has gone ka-blooie because, as we all know, I'm a big fat lame. But this will be better. Come on, everyone's doing it! You DO want to be popular, don't you?* JOIN USSSSSSS.

Well, that's it. I guess it was a very few things. Oh wait, there's this:

*popularity not guaranteed

  1. That's King Kong Bundy, wrestler from the 1980's.... or you can call him Andre the Giant's mini-me. LOL!

  2. Netflix turned on me this month they refused to send me "The Devil's Daughter" and the lame local video stores around here don't carry it.

I have obviously placed a curse upon Netflix as a response to their negligence.

Don't let his quiet demeanor and friendly facade fool you. King Kong Bundy was an animal in the ring!

  4. Meh, pass on Facebook. I'll stick with LJ.

And no, King Kong Bundy isn't related to the Bundys from "Married with Children". (It did come up in an episode featuring him and a then-unknown Michael Clarke Duncan.)

  5. Can't. Find. Devil's Daughter.
    ANYWHERE!

And I was dying for an excuse to relay my dad's personal encounter with a boozy and disorderly Shelly Winters in the Banff Springs Hotel many years ago.

  8. Ooh, I have to say Shelly Winters was one big monster herself. Just check out the film A Patch Of Blue if you haven't already and you'll see what I mean.

  10. Ok so I need some FG help here. Im planning a movie night with some friends. The two of us who are planning are horror fanatics. So weve seen a ton collectively. Im trying to find something neither of us have seen. Can anyone advise on something? Perhaps something thats amazing that came out on DVD for the 1st time or so?
    ;)
