TCM is a total anomaly in Hooper's filmography- not that it's the only good film, but it's just SO GOOD that...I don't know how he managed it, first time out. I guess the planets simply aligned for him somehow. I think maybe a lot of the magic came courtesy of Daniel Pearl and Bob Burns.
Why I want to downplay Hooper's efforts, I don't know. I'm such a jerk!
