...but I'm telling you all about it anyway. If you head over to the WB's website today, you'll see that they've launched a new show called Joni & Susanna.
You should watch it. It's hilarious, and I'm not just saying that because the Joni half of Joni & Susanna is my friend, I swear. I mean, if Charlie Sheen was my friend, I wouldn't be all "Go watch Two and a Half Men!", because that show fucking stinks. In other words, trust me. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for appearances Ghostella's Haunted Tomb regular Bridget McManus as well as her Top Friends co-star Julia Miranda. We all...like...support each other and shit. AWW.
Wait, I mean AWW.
That's better. Anyway, to relate this post to horror a little tiny bit, I'm going to trot out my tried-n-true photo of the football with a sword attached, aka the greatest horror movie weapon in the history of ever. And with that, I bid you good day. GOOD DAY.
I just realized that the picture I posted may lead you to believe that either Joni or Susanna is, in fact, a horse. That's not the case.
ReplyDeleteOR IS IT?
I just watched Graduation Day the other day (love Netflix Instant-Watch). That movie is...pretty awful, actually, but the football spear was quite impressive.
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing a trend around here lately and I'm trying to think of a polite way to bring it up without being rude, which is difficult because I feel very strongly about it and I think this issue needs to be addressed - What is your problem with Charlie Sheen? Have you never seen Hot Shots Part Deux? The man is a great actor and also the only one with the courage to be a guest on the Alex Jones show. I happen to find Two and a Half Men hilarious, thank you very much. I think you just haven't taken the time to understand Charlie Sheen. His work is very subtle. And if you're wondering I'm not being sarcastic! I'm a real honest to goodness Charlie Sheen fan! Please go easy on him you know he has a drinking problem and we need to be supportive so he doesn't fall off the wagon - also, he was excellent in Wall Street and Platoon. I thought the Hot Shots franchise was a good departure from the serious dramas so Charlie could show us that he can be funny too. Anyways, please remember that Charlie Sheen has gone through a lot, and that Two and a Half Men is very funny.
ReplyDeleteHey, it's Riding The Bus With My Sister! That movie really sucked, and Rosie O'Donnell' attempts to act were pitiful and hilarious.
ReplyDeleteJ&H does look good though. Too bad they're not showing it to people outside of the US, but I'll find somewhere to watch it.
It sorta reminds me of another buddy show I've been digging, called "The Allen and Craig Show". Only this is about a complete meathead who wears an army helmet and his clueless friend who doesn't want any part of it. Their quest is to get web hits and girls in the process, but it ain't happening. You might dig ep. 13 as Allen tricks Craig into going to a haunted house.

Dear anonymous Charlie Sheen fan,
ReplyDeleteYou know, you're right, Twice this week I lashed out irrationally at Charlie Sheen, throwing my opinions around as if I own the place. Why? What's caused this? I can't really say. Am I jealous? Maybe. Am I just trying to draw attention to myself so that people will think I'm "cool"? Probably. Am I off my meds this week? Definitely.
For your sake- and his- I'll end my tireless crusade against him. Final Girl should be a place of love and healing, not a place of negativity and bold declarations of dislike.
However, Two and a Half Men can still cram it as far as I'm concerned. If you enjoy it then that's both your beeswax and your good fortune.
Sike, as far as I'm concerned Graduation Day has three redeeming qualities: the football with a sword attached, an actress named Patch McKenzie, and that scene in the roller rink where they didn't have enough skaters so people just ran around in a circle. Other than those, it's dead to me!
A sword + football = awesome death? Why didn't I think of that??? Sure puts my soccer ball mace to shame.

P.S. A potato gun loaded with baseballs is an excellent anti-zombie weapon.
You know, until I actually saw an episode of Two and a Half Men, I assumed it was some kind of vanilla paint-by-numbers forgettable bit of fluff. It's not. It's very funny, and I'm often taken aback at how dirty it gets. When's the last time that was true of a relatively conventional successful sitcom?
ReplyDeleteI can't help it, I've grown to love Two and A Half Men.
Actually, I can't believe that Chuck Lorre, who wrote for the funny "Heathcliff" cartoon from the '80s, created that show. For shame, Chuck, for shame.
ReplyDeleteKensington, it's not a sitcom, but Pushing Daisies gets an awful lot past the radar, from "the Jock-Off 2000," to dental damming jokes. Never watched Two & A Half Men though, so I don't know how dirty they get.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I've actually used that kitten pic on my old blog or LJ or something. Seriously, I called him lickycat and he was a mascot of mine. Ha.
ReplyDeleteGirls and horses. I'm there.
ReplyDelete(that wasn't supposed to sound creepy but I suppose it did anyway. I just meant...oh nevermind.)
ps. I was really sad when Madeline Kahn died too. I cleaned her room once when I used to chambermaid.
