Seriously, does it get better than this? THERE EXISTS A DOLL OF JOAN CRAWFORD IN A WHEELCHAIR. And that Bette Davis is totally about to bust out some "Butcha AH, Blanche..."And here's Carrie, a doll featuring "a removable veil of gore".
I'm sorry, but "removable veil of gore" is undoubtedly the best phrase ever committed to pixelization.When I'm rich and famous or infamous (totally any day now), I'm SO plunking down the fundage to make all of my Mrs Kobritz dolls come true. And then I'll plunk down more and get a sailor leper ghost doll to face off against my Mrs Kobritz doll. I'll have to work a removable veil of gore in there somehow.

ReplyDeleteThe first picture with the three dolls is the creepiest thing ever. Oh god, on three levels. First, they're scary. Second, they're dolls. Three, they remind me of the two kids and their strict mother in PIN.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing some of characters from "The Vampire Chronicles" as well as Klmt Dracula and his brides, the Crow and Edward Scissorhands made by Charles Coe...except they are no longer being produced. :(
ReplyDeleteTonner also makes some great ones, like a series based on "A Christmas Carol" (My favorite is the Ghost of Christmas yet to come, dressed in Victorian funeral attire and looking like a corpse), one that's a cross between the Bride of Frankenstein and the Mummy's Bride, and ones based on "Twilight". (Okay, not scary, but Edward IS a vampire.) The good thing is, they always take suggestions, though they have to get licenses.

And "Resurrection of Monstress" is my favorite range of action figures. There's a female version of 'Gatchaman' Phantom called "Mask of Phanteana" which is my personal fave. The characters also made their way into a manga turned anime movie called "Hell's Angels".
On the creepiness meter, this is just one tick below those ultra-realistic plastic infants that lonely cat ladies make/buy/trade.

This is an OFFICIAL Barbie doll patterned after THE BIRDS, and it even features PLASTIC BIRDS affixed to Barbie. If that's not classic, then I don' know what is. And kitchier than Joan Crawford - who, try as she might, is no Barbie.
