I know I'm going to end up seeing this, it's in 3D and has Jensen Ackles, who is so pretty and surprisingly talented over on Supernatural. So it's nice to hear that's it's fun.

The gratuitous 3-D nudity was an absolute bonus!
As someone who honors the original MBV as their favorite movie, I can honestly say that I loved, loved, loved the remake. It was similar enough to the original but at the same time was different enough so I didn't have to nitpick. It was so gory. And, well, Tom Atkins is The Man.
Can't wait to see this one... ugh, why did I have to live in Mexico?
I'm not the world's biggest horror fan. I believe I saw the original, but have no memory of it.
Yet even I thought the remake was a heckuva lot a fun.
Pickaxes make for great 3-D.
My only problem, they didn't seem to use the 3-D enough. There was a lot of downtime between big sequences.
Fun film.
Surprisingly awesome; the script was well-written and they did a good job with Tom and Axel as characters, making them flawed yet you understand why Sarah's into both of them.
And how about that ending, huh?
Yes, the ending was very good! Such a great job honoring the spirit of the original. This movie was so much fun. It had a nice defenestration, too!
Did anyone else stay through the end credits?
At my theatre, I was the only one. Yet the film sort of continued, with (no spoilers) the camera going through the mine in 3-D while the credits rolled. Some of the best 3-D in the film. And, at the very end, well, I won't give it away, but it is worth staying.
Drats, we should've stayed through the end credits. Unfortunately, we had to watch the film 3D-less, and it was a bit strange watching it normally because you can tell which parts were used specifically for the 3D effect and it just looked awkward because you know it was performed solely for that effect.
As for the film itself, I actually enjoyed it! And I'm also one of those people who pretty much detest remakes. Then again, all the other ones were never this old school.

Kinda wish they made more of the 3D, but still, it was a blast! It was crazy to see a remake of a movie I love and still be totally surprised. Most fun horror movie I've seen in theaters in a loooong time, and it's a slasher, no less! Plus that Jensen Ackles...<3 <3 <3!

Geez, I feel like ... er ... I couldn't disagree more.
I absolutely hated MBV-3D. Stupid kids doing stupid things stupidly. There's a killer running around town with an axe ... and everyone allows two young girls to close up the market by themselves??? In a small town with a history of murders (the highest murder rate in the country ... right?), the body count starts and there is no curfew????
I didn't care if any on them lived. Bad acting. No real scares or tension. Amateur direction. The midget was distracting and unnecessary.
The gore was fun. The 3-D was fun. The boobs were fun. They red herringed the killer's identity pretty well. (I had it right from the beginning and then they got me to doubt myself ... not bad).
BUT THE FINAL GIRL HAS THE GUN POINTED AT THE KILLER AND WAITS FOR HER HUSBAND TO GET STABBED BEFORE PULLING THE TRIGGER ... UGH!!!!! KILL HER NOW, PLEASE!
I must be the only slasher fan alive who loved Friday the 13th and hated MBV-3D. Friday had fun with the genre, had a great killer and simple forward momentum ... tension ... moody ... decent acting.
MBV just made me irritated with it's soap opera pointlessness of the script, victims I couldn't root for ... hated 'em all ... and a lack of attention to basic logic.
Different strokes, I s'pose.
