on to happier things

In light of yesterday's internegativity, I feel the need to clean my cyber-palate, or at least to have something else at the top of the page here at FG. What better is there to help us forget our worries than the odd, manic intensity of a dancing Ed Harris?

don't let go don't let go DON'T LET GO!

  1. "Stacie...STACIE! Turn that down, and turn it down RIGHT now!"

*Stacie backwards-shimmies over to the bar and pours herself a cognac...

(Now I'm wondering what a dance-off between Ed Harris and Briefcase Lady would look like)

  2. One of the best songs in a horror movie. Ever. If I could take it to a family reunion, play it on a boombox, and jump around the living room annoying elderly relatives, you know I surely would.

  3. Just a note to other would-be plagiarists out there: if you want to feel closer to Stacie, don't copy her words. Instead, do as I do: just write Mr. Sam Ponder in your notebook over and over again during study hall.

  4. Is this not also one of the longest songs ever? Don't they cut away to Viveka Lindfors at the gravestone about five times before Ed finally does that smooth side shuffle over to turn off the horrible rack...I mean, the jam? All I know is, I wasn't surprised by that nicely muscled butt Ed Harris displayed in "Just Cause" because it was foreshadowed by his tight designer jeans and soulful dance moves in Creepshow!

  6. "Pleeeeeeze, Richard?"

Man oh man, do I love this movie. Cass was so early 80s white-hot with her equally cracked-out dancing! This song is only matched by "Showdown" in Maniac and "Do It To Me Once More" from House at the Edge of the Park. That's all the disco-ish horror movie music I need! Well, maybe those and the theme from Prom Night.

Sam, your comment made me literally LOL. I had a friend who used to do that kind of thing all the time- on her notebooks, in her notes, everything. So cool!

  9. Also, Stacie, you're forgetting the moving love theme from Madman as one of the all-time greatest horror movie songs. Though Angela's Theme (You're Just What I've Been Looking For) and The Ballad Of Harry Warden are up there.

  10. Perhaps you could do a list of top ten dances in horror movies?
The Ed Harris dance would of course top the list, but I'd also nominate the Korean soldiers rocking out to The Ventures in 'R-Point', and the weirdo penguin dance in 'Calvaire'..

  11. I like the top 10 horror dances idea. I also nominate Crispin Glover from Friday the 13th part IV

  12. I agree with you Stacie about those horror disco songs. "Goin' To a Showdown", "Do It To Me", "Prom Night", and this song from Creepshow are all completely awesome. I only wish I could find an MP3 of the full version of the Creepshow song!

  13. I have been known to get a little too funky in my walking style when the Murderock soundtrack is playing on the MP3 player. So, I share his pain.
