halp!
I'm drowning in a sea of stuff I need to watch and review. DROWNING I SAY. This photo represents but a WEE portion of the movies waiting to be loved and expounded upon here at The Old Final Girl Place; I'll admit I've watched Cherry Falls and Unhinged, but they've gone neglected all wordy-style here. So I leave it to you dear readers, trusted companions, and even you, the one jerk who no one likes: what's next for me?

I have to admit, I'm kinda partial to Mausoleum.
Bollywood Horror, that's what I wanna watch.
Tough choice.
The Devil Doll is a classic. So is Blood and Roses in a way. But out of those shown I would have to immediately watch the 2nd and 3rd volumes of the Bollywood Horror Collection.
Horror. Singing. Dancing. In Hindi? I really can't think of a more enjoyable way to spend an evening.
I'm a sucker for the word Exploitation; my vote is for the Mauseleum/Blood Song double feature.
THAT is an amazing stack of stuff to watch. I loved The Bollywood Horror Collection but both movies are over two hours. I'd say Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.
THE DEVIL'S RAIN. I can't believe you haven't already seen it. You need to see it now. Or else. Which isn't actually intended to be a threat, because I'm not going to do anything, but seriously. THE DEVIL'S RAIN!
Burial Ground certainly has its moments. Especially in the dubbing department....
Die Screaming Marianne...a title that really catches the attention, no? Doesn't mean it's any good because sometimes all of the genius is in the title.

And dude, are you effing kidding me? Bollywood Horror, for sure! Just the thought is bringing on fits of laughter. I bet that shit is pure horror/comedy gold. Blood, guts, and gigantic choreographed song-and-dance routines. Unreal.
Devil's Rain is excellent 70s stuff. I still love that movie! The Shatner and the Borgnine in a satanic horror movie? C'mon.
I've heard good things about 6 films to keep you awake, so I will toss my vote in for that one.

My vote is for Burial Ground. Nothing will prepare you the, um, affection a son shows his mother in that movie...
Plus it's essentially a swinging sex romp for the first 20 minuets and then it gets all Italian zombie on you.
I say Burial Ground... just for that creepy kid and his mother... not a great film, but it does hold some surprises!
Late Bloomer, because I'm selfish and want to read your take on it. Although, it is more depressing that scary. In fact, it kinda sticks out like an ugly duckling among the others.
Dang. You don't have "It Came Without Warning" in there. I can't find that movie anywhere.
Well, I have to say that my eyes were immediately drawn to 'Die Screaming Marianne'.. and not only because I have a hateful ex named Marianne. Okay, that was the only reason.
Jesus, I'm such a slacker horror movie fan. I don't think I've seen ANY of those movies.

Going by title, I vote for Die Screaming Marianne.
Burial ground and the Devil's Rain have their moments (although the latter's best is the misspelled poster), but of themovies I've seen, I'd otherwise recommend The Possession of Joel Delaney - should be right up your alley and also make for a great review.
After Amityville II I think I've had all The Possession I can handle for now. So I'll give that a miss.
The VHS titles are out because, well, they're VHS.
So... uhm... I'll pick... Die Screaming Marianne. I love a good Gilligan's Island movie.

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is fucking fab. But Burial Ground is good for a laugh...if you can tamp down your bile long enough, that is.
I'd have to go with Devil's Rain first and foremost, the cast is pure 70's ensemble goodness. I'd put 6 Films to Keep You Awake up there too, I've heard good things, and I believe "Baby's Room" is on that one...
That is one impressive stack, and I WOULD watch all of those :) LOL
Out of the bunch, my tastes say Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is the most watchable... not bad at all zombie flick that has a vibe that falls between Hammer and Italian gut crunchers. Delivers on the creeping dread, at times.
Pretty heavy on the 70s grain, also.
Burial Ground is delightfully terrible. The Devil's Rain is close, but cheap-ass Italian zombies beat rubbery Satanists in my world.
Burial Ground would certainly be my choice, it's entirely demented. Six Films to Keep You Awake would be second. I saw a couple of them on the big screen a year or so ago - The Baby's Room and To Let. Both well worth a watch.
I'd go for "Die Screaming Marianne", even though it's not the best Pete Walker film ("Frightmare" takes that crown...). Worth it just for the title sequence of Susan George dancing in a chain bikini in front of a lurid red background. Y'know, if you like that sort of thing.

The Devil's Rain and Let Sleeping Corpses Lie for sure. Also, The 6 Films To Keep You Awake is by the guy who did REC which I know you were fond of.
Because I consider your time valuable, obviously more so than I do my own, I emplore you to avoid watching Die Screaming Marianne until that moment in which you absolutely HAVE to know what the 1960's would have been like with the Lifetime Movie Network. This flick is no where near a horror film, and is barely near a 'film' at all. It's bad sonnet-styled 70's folk music and rediculously poor outfit choices... Keep in mind, that makes it TOTES worth viewing on an off day, but don't waste any horror writing goodness on it...

The person above me who said that "DIE SCREAMING MARIANNE" is super good? Yeah, they're obviously hostile and trying to trick you, because it is the dullest piece of lame, soap-opera-y Euro-trash I've ever yawned my way through... Marianne barely screams at all, because there's frankly nothing to scream about, or raise your voice over. She's barely ever in any sort of peril whatsoever, EXCEPT for danger of being bored to death. The whole thing is basically a plot to get ahold of someone's inheritance or something, I dunno. WEAK.
Now now, let's not forget that we all have different tastes and there are flavors for everyone. I know for a fact that not everyone can appreciate the magic of, say, Leprechaun 4: In Space, or that The Cavern may be someone's favorite film, but that's their beeswax.
And let it be stated for the record that I LOOOOOVE movies about schemes to get and/or withhold an inheritance...especially when one person tries to drive another crazy!
As if there were any doubt, you must screen the bollywood horror movies! I think your audience would loooove to know what a slasher flick combined with an elaborate, multi-color, highly-choreographed extravaganza looks like.
Burial Ground is one of my all-time favorite Italian zombie movies! Definitely worth watching. If not right this minute, then soon...
You could watch just one or two of the "6 Films to Keep You Awake."
I recommend "A Real Friend."
A young girl has movie horror icons as imaginary friends. Leatherface has lots of screen time.
Imagine her surprise one day when Mom can see one of the monsters as well!
After that the only other one worth watching is "A Christmas Tale." Santa is both a woman and a zombie.

That mother/son scene in Burial Ground scarred me when I was a kid. I imagine it's cheestastic now.
Bollywood Horror collection please... Am a fellow horror lover from India and would love to hear your take on our Horror movies...

On a completely unrelated note, I just started reading your old blogs and finished 1981. Just wanted to say that I thought Student Bodies (which came out that year) was a wonderfully awful horror movie spoof. Not exactly what you normally review, but a favorite of mine nonetheless. Definitely a great one when drunk at 2 a.m.
