I just wished my mom a happy birthday, and mentioned she's sharing it with the great George Romero. Her reaction was oddly muted.
Yeah, people aren't impressed when I mention sharing a birthday with the great George Romero, either, but now that I can say stuff like "I share a birthday with spazmo's mom!" that shit's in the bag.
Criterions would be wicked cool. Though I must say the four-disc Dawn of the Dead box set I am lucky to have is pretty damn definitive and would be hard to top. ... Belated Happy Birthday, George!

ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! -- what, no "Land of the Dead"? shocking. :)
ReplyDeleteOh cool Happy Birthday to him!! I love the movie "Day of the Dead". The end with Bubba is my favorite zombie moment ever!!!

Great, now I have to buy all those fucking movies again... and at Criterion prices!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that those are real... I cannot find any announcements from Criterion about releasing Romero's films.
ReplyDeleteNo, they're not real...they're my wish fulfillment. :)
ReplyDeleteBut perhaps it's for the best. Knowing myself, I WOULD be tempted to buy them. Why spend $2.99 on Night of the Living Dead when you can spend $36.95?
In Blu-Ray!!!! My dreams....
