If you didn't listen to my show live...

...well, I guess that's okay. I'll try not to take it personally- in fact, I'll put all the blame on my co-host. Still, you can redeem yourself by downloading last night's episode The Scare-ening 2: The Re-Scare-ening. We had terrific guests, weird callers (seriously, what was up with Danielle Harris that guy?), and much NSFWness. Listen today and be the envy of everyone in the whole world!

This could be you!

  1. I've dubbed this evening's entertainment agenda "The Scare-ening 2:The Listening".

Last night I was otherwise occupied with a dastardly computer virus that Microsoft says comes from Latvia.

On your next show, maybe try to sneak in the phrase "fucking Latvians", ok?

  2. I won't lie, It was St. Patty's and I was too busy dancing with green lights around a fire with a handle of vodka to remember.

  3. The Good: Brea Grant and Stacie Ponder.

The Bad: Talking over one another and the sound bites.

    The Ugly: The "DA" caller.

  4. I figured we'd have fewer listeners because of the holiday, but since it's downloadable now...NO ONE HAS AN EXCUSE! :D

As far as talking over each other...yeah, that's probably going to happen since we don't have any visual clues. At least everyone shuts up when they realize it's happening, although that leads to an awkward couple of seconds. Thanks for listening!!

  5. I totally promoted it.

Then I totally forgot to listen.

Then I totally just started listening.

But, then I totally paused it 'cause I has a story idea to write down.

But, then I'll totally unpause it and laugh more.

LOVE THE SHOW!! Hope you do this forever!

... I feel so close to you.

  6. Listened last night... funny stuff again... I love how you heroically try to keep the oft runaway train on the tracks with little success while Heidi shouts slurs and curse words... (Not that my opinion means shit since I don't live in CA... hoo hah!!) I'll hear you again next week...

  7. You're talking over each other because you're not yet used to working with one another in this regard. It has nothing to do with visual cues, it's simply a matter of experience.

  8. The callers were really, really loud compared to the host voices. That was sort of uncomfortable over headphones.

  9. Yeah, we've been trying to figure that out, but so far there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it. We'll keep looking.

  10. Yo, Ponder!

I don't know if this is something you can help, but I am having trouble with the sound quality of the downloadable podcast. The calls are super duper loud, but you and Heidi are really quiet. Listening to this on the subway, which is what I have to do, is proving a challenge for me. Is this fixable? Is anyone else having this problem?

  11. Yeah, unfortunately everyone's having that problem, and I don't know why. I've read about the same issue occurring on other shows- other hosts complaining, but there doesn't seem to be any way around it. There's no way for us to adjust the volume of the callers (or us), and as we're recording it sounds fine.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's got to do with the phones people are using to call in- landline vs cell or what have you. I'm still looking into it, and hope to solve the problem ASAP.
