awesome movie poster friday - the CHANGELING edition!

Who knew that Peter Medak's The Changeling (1980) had such boss posters? Not me. However, now we all know, and life will never be the same.

I especially like the one where George C. Scott looks like a cranky detective.

  1. I just watched this for the first time the other day. Well done, though I can't watch Mr. Scott without constantly thinking about the "Ow! My groin!" Simpsons bit.

  2. Aaaand as usual, the Polish poster takes the cake for "Most Batshit Insane Misinterpretation." I don't remember the scene where George C. Scott had black hair and his face exploded into streaks of red, white, and blue. But maybe Poland has a different version.

  4. Great haunted house flick. Maybe my favorite, with an ending that's worthy of its buildup. Made my SOCKTOBER list if I remember correctly.

  5. French: The Child of the Devil “It‘s a true story”

Polish: Revenge After Years (I think)

    Hungarian: The Exchanged Child

    Korean transliteration: Chenjeoring

    Japanese transliteration: Chienjiringu

Spanish: At the End of the Staircase “Joseph: If you're dead, ¿why are you still in this house?’…

  6. I love this movie. It is one of the few that will really scare me while I'm watching it.

Mostly, I just get freaked out at night after I try (and fail) to go to bed... but this one? Will make me keep checking the corners of the room and make me feel like I'm being watched while it's on.

  7. "We're going to cut out their living guts...and USE them...to grease the treads of our tanks."

You've gotta wonder what sort of ghost would pick a fight with this guy.

  9. Um... why is that little girl there? I haven't watched this in over a year, but I'm pretty sure there is no creepy little girl.

  10. A wheelchair can be a phallic symbol. Who knew?

  11. To Missy Y.

If I'm not mistaken, that is supposed to be the little girl who sees Joseph floating up from the well under her bedroom floor.

I'm not sure if that is meant to be "creepy girl" or "freaked the sh-t out" girl.
