MANIAC MADNESS: The Final Showdown!

The people have spoken, and the end is nigh! But one winner can be crowned, and it's up to YOU to do the crownin'. Who will you choose...Carrie White, the sweet, awkward who used her telekinetic powers to exact revenge on those who incessantly bullied her? Or Michael Myers, the jerk who kills people for the fun of it because he's made of 100% USDA Grade A EVIL? It's like a classy version of Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood!

Decide...and click. Click my friends, and feel the power of voting. Polls open until midnight EST.

VOTING IS OVER, THANKS FOR PLAYING! WINNER REVEALED TOMORROW! YELL!

CLICKED! GAH! I can't believe it's over. I got to admit, Carrie White's place in the final 2 was a surprise, I thought for sure it'd be Jason or Freddy facing off against ol' shape face.

In the finest Rocky tradition, what we all need now once the winner is crowned is - REMATCH!!

Loved this, Stacie!

Awesome, thank you! I had a lot of fun with this, and I admit, I'm already compiling lists for the next tournament.

It will only be possessed floor lamp and vampire puppy, THE END!

When the first Halloween movie came out I was 15 (yeah, I'm that old) and I went with two friends. None of us could sleep for a week.

Carrie White is the hero/victim rather than a villain like Jason/Freddy/Michael et al, so naturally she should be THE FINAL GIRL!

Ha, that's definitely one way to look at it. She does murder a lot of people, though :D

Sure Carrie murdered a few people, but c'mon, they all deserved it. They laughed, teased, threw tampons and some of them even embarrassed her by remaking her movie.

I haven't seen either of the remakes. Anytime they come up, I think "I really gotta see those" (even if they're largely reviled)...but then, there are so many other movies I've yet to see, so why bother?

Another perspective on this final: It's Loretta Lynn vs. William Shatner.

Or Stephen King vs. John Carpenter.

Or John Travolta's nemesis vs. Jamie Lee Curtis' nemesis.

Yay! You likes my Friday the 13th Part VII joke!

I've never thought Carrie fits in the framework of "hero." She's definitely a sympathetic victim of her mother and her classmates, but her wrath strikes out at everyone, even the teacher that tried to help her. Unchecked anger and vengeance defies right and wrong.

Skip the remake. It's just trying too hard.

Hey now, I don't want you thinking I stole a joke. I've always referred to F13 VII as "Jason vs Carrie", though I'm sure I wasn't the first regardless.

Wow! It's really neck-and-neck!

It really probably has to be Michael Myers, though. He's the boogey man. That's what he am.

You know, this would make a great movie!

I was kind of hoping for a Dracula vs. The Shape final round. Woe is me.

Carrie is certainly the more sympathetic of the two villains on offer here, but nothing tops The Shape. Or Halloween. De Palma is a visitor in the land over which Carpenter rules as king.

Man, if Carrie doesn't win this I will go telikinetic on all the fools who voted against her. And you don't want that. No one wants that.

Seriously, I can't lose another round; there have been too many lost already: Jason, Dracula, Vampire Puppy, Angela, Bathtub Lady...enough carnage to make me feel like I'm in a Friday the 13th film sans Jason. ARGH!
