It's Christina (Diabolique, 1955) vs Eleanor (The Haunting, 1963) in the terrified frail heroine runs down a darkened hallway in her nightgown battle for my heart!
As amazing as Diabolique is-Eleanor hands down. I would say the better opponent would have been Miss Giddens in The Innocents. Then I truly couldn't choose.
Eleanor wins because it's The Haunting which is adapted from the novel The Haunting of Hill House which is by Shirley Jackson and Shirley trumps EVERYTHING.
Who can choose? DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough one!
ReplyDeleteREFUSE TO CHOOSE, that's my platform
ReplyDeleteElanor outclasses everyone always, in my book. look how she turns and looks even as she runs away, from her true love.
ReplyDeleteEleanor wins.
